ABOUT ACLT
Albany's real estate market is leaving low-income families behind, with few able to afford homeownership. Rents are rising, displacing low-income families and shrinking the supply of affordable housing.
Since 1987, Albany Community Land Trust (ACLT) has been acquiring, renovating, and retaining homes for affordable rentals or reselling homes to eligible buyers, bringing a much-needed, long-term perspective to Albany's affordable housing efforts. ACLT homeowners and tenants are members of the Land Trust, enabling ACLT to build a community-controlled base for affordable housing that benefits both current and future residents.
The land trust model ensures continued affordable housing opportunities. This approach allows ACLT homeowners to enjoy equity, security, and legacy while strengthening community bonds. ACLT tenants benefit from local management committed to offering quality, affordable housing.
